Make a Beautiful Cutting Board 2
After taking the boards out of the clamps you need to scrape the excess glue. I clamp the boards down and use a not so nice chisel, scraping bevel down.
Now its time to plane the boards, this is where having access to a heavy duty well adjusted planer really helps. Light duty planers may do fine however I have more than 10 cutting boards to plane. In this situation I would recommend borrowing a shop or paying for shop time to use a beast of a planer that will give you a good surface on your boards. Planing is loud and it can be difficult but the reveal is great. Cutting a smooth surface after working with the rough sawn pieces is great.
